Hi, I’m Cindy

The Kingwood Collection began about 40 years ago when I was blessed enough to take a short break from my career to be home with my two daughters when they were babies. During that time, I stumbled upon some library books about jewelry-making, so I taught myself how to create the basics. Admittedly, my earliest creations were ridiculously bad, but I learned more as time went on, and the designs got much better! Before long, I was doing local craft shows and selling handmade jewelry.

But eventually, I had to return to full-time work and raising children, so for many years, I didn’t have time for fun hobbies. I’m sure all of you Moms out there understand that. Fast forward almost 40 years, and I recently retired and I couldn’t be happier to leave corporate America and my long career in graphic design, where I worked for major newspapers in Houston and Nashville, and in more recent years, as the solo designer for a novelty print company selling on Amazon. Today, I am so very excited to finally focus on the fun things in life, which include designing whimsical and colorful jewelry.

Why jewelry making? I was a very artistic kid, always coloring, drawing, painting and crafting, so I guess you could say this was a natural extension of that. As a young adult, my husband and I didn’t have much money, but I always admired the women in my offices who wore matching jewelry, which was something I definitely could not afford. But what if I could make my own? When I did, people started to take notice and would often ask me to make them something unique.

What makes my jewelry different from other creators? Everything is handmade and one-of-a-kind. I rarely duplicate anything. Most of the jewelry I make is comprised of matching sets, because I just think it’s so fun to look put-together with your outfits! I’m very passionate about using high quality materials, like gemstones and crystals, and trying to create new, up-to-date designs. You won’t find any plastic or junk here.

Out in the retail world, it’s so hard to find matching jewelry sets, but here at The Kingwood Collection, you can purchase matching sets – or individual pieces if you like – and you can be assured that your jewelry is unique, created by hand, not mass produced, and most definitely will get you noticed wherever you go.

Today, my two daughters Amanda and Emily are all grown up with careers of their own. At home, you’ll find me with my husband Paul of 36 years, my rescue Beagle named Lexi, and my two grand-dogs Parker and Luca.
